PETALING JAYA: The deputy president of Angkatan Amanah Merdeka (Amanah) Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir has officially resigned from Umno with immediate effect.
In a press statement today, the former tourism minister said that he has already sent his resignation letter to the Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Kadir, who is known for his colourful bowties, had last week stepped down from his post as treasurer for Umno’s Kulim/Bandar Baharu division.
He had served as an MP in the Kedah constituency for three decades.
The former minister had ruffled feathers in Umno after accusing the party of practicing money politics.
Contacted later, Kadir declined to comment on his decision, saying that he will hold a press conference on Friday to explain the matte

Elok sangat laa tu..buat apa nak simpan bangkai yang tak tau mengenang budi..dan bodoh ini..sebab dia nyatakan pengundi yang mengundi Umno dikawasan nya dahulu dibayar duit baru nak mengundi tetapi yang bangang nya dia tak sedar bahawa undian yang dibuat dan dipilih adalah dirinya sendiri..so sape yang bagi duit pada pengundi kalau tidak simamak tongkang ni..
